The Institute of Art & Law will run its Diploma in Art Profession Law and Ethics course again in 2025. This is a course designed to introduce arts professionals and lawyers to the legal risks and safeguards that underpin art transactions – and a good deal more. Topics covered will include art contracts, artists’ rights, authenticity, acquisition, museum deaccession, treasure, tax and ethics.
The Diploma course will run one day a month from January to July 2025, taking place either on a Friday or Saturday, in order to accommodate full-time professionals wishing to take part. The course has been one of our most popular and you can read what two of our graduates have to say about it: Rudy Capildeo (Partner and Head of Art & Luxury at Wedlake Bell) here and Stephanie Drawdy (South Carolina attorney and host of the Warfare of Art and Law podcast) here. No pre-existing legal knowledge is necessary to enrol in the course.
Dates: 17th January, 14th February, 15th March, 11th April, 16th May, 14th June and 12th July 2025
Method of delivery: online, via Zoom
Cost: £1,920.00 (including UK VAT), with discounts available for IAL, UKRG and BADA members. Single-day offerings are possible as well.
