The Frick Art Reference Library, New York, is sponsoring a seminar on archival research methods and Latin and Italian paleography from January 13–17, 2020. This five-day course, which will meet each afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., will provide participants with practical training in navigating archives as well as an overview of some of the most common medieval and Renaissance scripts. Topics covered will include parsing finding aids and catalogs; codicology; and abbreviations. A working knowledge of Latin and Italian is required.

The seminar is free and open to the public, but space is limited. For consideration, please send a short letter of interest that outlines how the skills developed in the course will benefit your current research project(s) to scholarsprogram@frick.org. The deadline for letters of application is Friday, December 6, 2019.
