ANN: Memoirs of avant-garde gallery owner, Berthe Weill, now online

After more than ten years of research, Dr Marianne Le Morvan has published in open source in French the memoirs of the avant-garde gallery owner Berthe Weill, with a critical text and a list of all her exhibitions (1901-1941).

This is the first time that all the exhibitions (Maillol, Matisse, Picasso, Vlaminck, Braque, Derain, Picabia, Dufy, Léger, Rivera, Gleizes, Metzinger, Reth, Modigliani, Zadkine, Valadon, Marval, Charmy, Freundlich, etc.) are freely accessible.

The archive provides valuable material for the study of these artists and is also an important step in the recognition of the role of Berthe Weill as an essential art dealer of the modern period.
