The Ministry of Culture’s Mission for the Research and Restitution of Looted Cultural Property (M2RS) offers a reverse image search tool. It enables users to compare an image with a collection of photographs, held by the Archives of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The majority of the photographs come from the files of restitution claims submitted to the Commission for the Recovery of Art (CRA) (1944–1949). Subject to further research, this platform allows researchers to check whether an artwork corresponds to an item reported as having been looted.
