The Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI) invites you to participate in the 23rd
International Conference on Cultural Economics, to be held at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
This conference marks half a century since the founding of the ACEI in the 1970s, returning to the
Netherlands where the second edition of the conference was held in 1982! As a beacon for cultural
economics research, this conference is the oldest and one of the most esteemed gatherings in the
social sciences concerning arts and culture.
The ACEI Conference attracts a global community of scholars and practitioners to explore the
economic facets of arts and culture. This event is renowned for its inclusivity and diversity, offering a
platform for a wide range of speakers and methodologies. It encourages interdisciplinary contributions
that enhance our understanding of the economic, business, social, and policy dimensions of arts and
culture.

Submission Procedures:
Abstract Submissions: Please submit proposals that include the presenter’s name, affiliation, contact
information, paper title, keywords, and an abstract (300–400 words).
All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Proposals must be submitted via the
conference website by 1 February, 2025.
Proposed Sessions: Proposals should include abstracts for 4-5 papers. Session organizers must submit
for each paper the same information as for individual abstract submissions. Submissions will be reviewed
by the Scientific Committee. Submit via conference website by 1 February, 2025.
Full Paper Submission: Accepted papers must be submitted in full by June 1, 2025. Papers will be
available for conference attendees at the conference website. All presenters must register for the
conference.
Young Researchers Workshop:
The Young Researchers Workshop is an integral part of the conference aimed at supporting emerging
scholars in cultural economics. Young researchers are encouraged to submit their abstracts following
the same guidelines as the main conference. This initiative provides a platform for presenting their work,
receiving feedback, and networking with junior scholars.
Poster Session:
The Poster Session is designed to offer an engaging platform for researchers, with a particular focus
on young and junior scholars, to present their work and gain feedback. A call for submissions will be
announced in spring 2025.
Best Paper Awards:
The ACEI will continue its tradition of recognizing excellence in research through various awards:
The Presidents’ Prize: For the best paper by a young scholar.
The Pommerehne Prize: For the best paper published in the Journal of Cultural Economics over the
past two years.
The Víctor Fernández Blanco Prize: For the best paper in the Young Researchers Workshop.

conference website after the acceptance of abstracts.
