Venue: Auditorium im Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 1, 10117 Berlin
Conference organised by the Centre for Art Market Studies in cooperation with the Department of Digital Provenance at TU Berlin and SODa – Collections, Objects, Data Literacy / HU Berlin.
How is the digital transformation – from big data to artificial intelligence – reshaping research on collections, provenance, and the art market, both today and in the future? What are the key characteristics, methods, challenges, and potentials of digital approaches in these domains? What data skills are needed to engage in this research? Furthermore, what structural frameworks need to be created or strengthened to enable transdisciplinary research that combines quantitative and qualitative perspectives?
The conference invites researchers, IT specialists, and practitioners from GLAM institutions (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums), universities, and the art and antiques market to engage in a dialogue on the challenges, opportunities, and possible solutions associated with the ‘digital turn’.
