TIAMSA held its first conference in 2017, bringing together academics, professionals and art market specialists from around the globe. After gatherings in London, Vienna, Lisbon, Edinburgh and Berlin we hosted a successful sixth annual conference in Berlin in September 2022.
From 4th – 5th July 2024, the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań will host the 8th annual conference of The International Art Market Studies Association (TIAMSA). The 2025 conference has two main themes, Geopolitical relations and how these affect the art market, for example in the flow of objects, investment trends, etc. There will be a special focus on emergency situations and how this has impacted the art market and artists, including lessons learned from the coronavirus pandemic and situations of political unrest.
Technological development, particularly AI and its use in art creation as well as art market analysis and authentication, and the creation of new art platforms and ways of interacting with artwork (e.g. Metaverse). Technological development brings a plethora of new options for the art markets. It influences artist workshops, art market analysis, and the art offered on the market. The Pact for the Future foresees the importance of AI and new technologies in global development beyond 2030, which is
why this important issue has been chosen for inclusion in the 2025 annual debate.
