This international, bimodal and bilingual, colloquium is jointly produced by the National Gallery of Canada (NGC) and the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) as part of the CIÉCO Research and Inquiry Group’s New Uses of Collections in Art Museums Partnership. This colloquium was also made possible with the support of Équipe Art et Musée.
The conference outlines some of the innovative practices that are changing the standards and practices of art acquisition. While new approaches to acquisition are becoming increasingly widespread in all areas of collecting, they are also giving rise to innovative ways of thinking and doing that are having a transformative impact on galleries, museums, art, and society as a whole.

The event will take place in English and French. Simultaneous interpretation is available in both languages.
